Best Automatic Vacuum Cleaner Robots
Robot vacuums make use of instruments for navigation, such as sensors, lasers, and cameras to map your space and clean efficiently while avoiding obstacles. Some can even self-empty their own dustbins and mop!
Many connect to apps or digital voice assistants for hands-free cleaning. Certain models come with features like automatic docks and boundary strips that can help you reduce your work.
1. Roborock S8 maxV Ultra
Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum cleaner does not fail to impress. It has more advanced features than previous models, but the primary selling point is its ability to intelligently clean your home for you. It can identify the types of flooring, no-go zones, stubborn spills, pet bowls and much more. It does this by using cameras and smart maps to analyze its surroundings. This allows it to determine what it should do at any given moment, so you don't need to keep pressing buttons or setting multiple modes.
It is able to mop as do the other Roborock vacuums. This is a fantastic addition to the Roborock collection, as it makes the robovac better. The mop head can also be turned into scrub mode to get rid of harder dirt. Another bonus feature is that the robovac has the ability to overcome small thresholds of step because of its front-mounted sensor and a rotating FlexiArm.
It's easy to use, with a simple app allowing you to set rooms to clean and customize settings. Rocky, the voice assistant, is responsive and understands commands clearly. You can ask it to cancel a task or recite specific commands. It is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and Matter-certified for Apple HomeKit integration.
The S8 MaxV Ultra has a 5,200mAh battery and can run for up 180 minutes before returning to the dock to recharge. The battery is automatically emptied and washed at the end of each run which reduces the time it takes to recharge.
2. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 Ultra is a powerful cleaning machine that works at the top of its class when it comes to mopping and vacuuming. With suction power that is top of the line with innovative features, as well as pet-friendly features, this robot vacuum is an excellent option for families with a busy schedule. Its advanced navigation, obstacle avoidance, and custom options make it one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on the market.
This robot vacuum uses an RGB camera to identify its surroundings and detect obstacles using artificial intelligence. This helps it avoid taking your cat's toy or a cable that is lying on the ground, and causing damage to your flooring. This feature also lets you to identify specific areas that the robot must avoid when it is cleaning.
Dreame X40 also excels in sweeps and mowing, with the unique dual brush system that gets rid of dirt from the corners of your home. It can even clean baseboards, making it a perfect option for those with kids and pets. This vacuum is easy to set up and use with an app that offers several options for customization.
This vacuum also has a self-cleaning base that automatically empties the trash bin and fills the cleaning solution tank, saving your time. This robot vacuum has an average battery life of 198 minutes in vacuuming mode and can cover 308 square metres on one charge. It can also return to its dock automatically to charge and allows you to effortlessly pick up where it was when it left. 3. Eufy X10
The Eufy X10 offers a wide range of features at a reasonable price. It can perform everything you'd need a robot mop and vacuum to do at a reasonable cost.
This model is able to handle cleaning chores on the floor without assistance, including sweeping, mopping and dusting. Its base station takes some extra space than other models, needing 50cm either side and 150cm in the front.
Its advanced navigation technology is able to determine the design of your home, and then store and utilizing the data in its internal memory without ever transferring it to the cloud or an external source. The X10 can keep track of the layout of rooms using iPath and AI See. It can optimize cleaning routes to be efficient and thorough.
The X10's smart object recognition system also performs well and allows the robot to easily identify and avoid hazards such as power cords. It can even be programmed to automatically clean and recharge its battery, which is a nice touch. However, I found that the X10 can get stuck on some more thick rugs, crashing noisily over them and sometimes pushing its front brush into them.
Overall it's a top-quality robo vacuum and mop that's disappointed by a confusing app. In contrast to the iRobot app that guides you through the process of setting up your robot and instructing you how to use it, the Eufy Clean app leaves you to work things out on your own. It's an excellent choice for those who want to modify it to suit their needs.
4. SwitchBot S10
The SwitchBot S10 vacuum cleaner robot is the perfect choice for home cleaning. It combines an air cleaner and mop. It features an exclusive two-station design structure that allows it to supply water for mopping and also take dust off in the same machine, resulting in full automation of the cleaning process.
It's outfitted with all the standard sensors that are found on top-of-the line robot vacuums to build a map of your household in real-time, making sure to avoid obstacles, and also recognizing different kinds of carpets and hard floors. A front-facing AI-capable camera is included, making it easier to navigate your home and find places that aren't accessible for robotic vacuums in general.
This robot's powerhouse features a suction motor with a high-powered power which is capable of removing dirt, pet hair, and other debris from hard floors and low-pile carpeting. The app lets you personalize the robot according to your preferences. You can design custom cleaning routines and alter the mopping and vacuuming powers.
It mops exceptionally well with the RevoRoll roller mop that can create 10N of pressure on any floor and a RinseSync system that automatically cleans itself as it moves through your home. This ensures that the mop is clean as it picks up dirt, and prevents it from spreading the mess throughout your home.

Unfortunately, the S10's battery life isn't as good as some of its competitors and might require a recharge halfway through in the event of a larger house. It also sounds very loud when operating, and might not be a good choice to use in areas where silence is required. However, it's an excellent value for the price. The SwitchBot S10 has a sleek, contemporary look that makes it a standout model in its category.
5. K10 Plus
The K10 Plus is an upgrade from the popular Mini robot vacuum. This latest version combines a new Anti-Tangle Rubber Brush with an Advanced Position Sensitive Detector sensor (PSD) and an increased suction power up to 3000Pa, which provides superior corner coverage.
The K10 Plus uses SLAM navigation an easy app, and a thorough cleaning process. The PSD sensor and rotary brush work in tandem to move around furniture. The four-stage cleaning process combines sweeps, lifts, and vacuums to remove debris from floors and carpets. The dust bin automatically emptys itself, so you don't have to worry about emptying it frequently.
The app also allows you to mark off areas of your home that you want the device to stay clear of, such as pets toys or power cords. This is a feature that's typical of robotic vacuums. It's useful when certain areas of your home require more attention.
You can set up the K10 Plus so that it returns to its base station after 60, 75 or even 90 minutes in order to empty its garbage bin. This is a major improvement over other robots which require a return trip and manually empty. It can save you a lot of time.
In my tests, I discovered that the K10 Plus' battery life was excellent. It lasted for 110 minutes on a single run. This is more than iRobot Roomba Combo's 127 mins.
The K10 Plus has a fairly compact design, which makes it easy to put under furniture or tight spaces. It is connected via Wi-Fi and comes with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri shortcuts. It also works with IFTTT and Samsung SmartThings. Its app tracks how often you use its accessories, including the side brushes, filter and dust bag. This will let you know when to replace them.
